Side Loading the Extension onto Chrome

This document provides instructions for sideloading the Fuuz browser extension as a short-term solution for the extension being disabled in the Chrome Web Store. Below are the steps detailing what to do with the zip file for the extension (which will be attached to this document) and how to install the extension on a Chrome browser that doesn’t currently have it installed.

Step 1: Download and unzip the extension zip file into a location on your local computer where you can easily find it later. Extension Zip File ->

Step 2: Open a new tab in the Chrome browser and enter chrome://extensions/ in the address bar. You can also access this page by clicking the puzzle piece icon in the extension section next to your Chrome user, or by navigating to this section from the settings menu.

Step 3: On the top right of the page, you will see a slider to enable developer mode. Turn on this slider.

Step 4: Stay on the same webpage you navigated to in the previous step. Under the "Extensions" header on the top left, click the first option, “Load unpacked.”

Step 5: A file browser pop-up will appear. From here, locate the file that you unzipped in Step 1 and select it.

Step 6: The extension should now be visible under "All Extensions" and will be turned off by default. The final step is to turn it on.
